Facilitator Tip: The Gift of Presence
This time of year, I’m particularly aware of the importance of presence. Not presents, but presence. I have been very fortunate to have a supportive family life from the start. Looking back at old pictures, my parents and grandparents were at every function that was important to me. Birthday parties, basketball games, volleyball games, band concerts, church youth events, piano recitals, three graduations, my wedding… They have been there to support me through my disappointments, my tears and my failures as well. The gift of their presence has been truly the most rewarding gift I have ever received. Just knowing that they are there for me gives me confidence to do whatever my heart desires. And that is a great gift.
In this season of presents, it’s easy to get bogged down in the commercialism and gift buying. I would like to encourage you to give someone your presence this holiday season. It will mean a great deal to the giver and the receiver.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to to each an every one of you. I am blessed with your business and support, and to have you as a member of this community.
Have fun out there,
