Summer and Celebrations!
Bicycle and Flower Basket
The words ‘easy’ and ‘summer’ are a perfect match. In fact, pull out a thesaurus and look up the word ‘easy’ and you’ll get a wonderful blueprint for summer: content, effortless, easy as pie (my husband’s organic blueberry, preferably), smooth sailing, a piece of cake. “Easy” also translates as a picnic, a breeze, child’s play, and no sweat (well, what’s summer without a little perspiration?) Throw open windows and the season rolls right in, bringing every well-worn, well-loved summery cliche that tends our wintered imaginations: the smell of new-mown lawn and barbecue smoke, sudden bright peals of children’s laughter echoing through the neighborhood, evenings awash in the sound of crickets. We give ourselves to the casual and relaxed. Shorts and sandals are the order of the day, a hot dog is wonderfully haute, and if humidity makes a hairstyle go haywire, who cares?
This issue of The Spokesperson is an ode to the delicious season of summer and the celebration of 17 years of Training Wheels! It’s sometimes hard for me to believe that it has been 17 years since this little idea of a company was brewed in my brain. I have enjoyed the ups, the downs and the crazy sideways turns I’ve been on. Thank you so much for being a part of this journey with me!
So put up your feet, let the warmth of summer relax those shoulders, and contentedly scroll through this July issue. It’s as easy as summer, isn’t it?
