Facilitator Tip: Olympic Rock Paper Scissors!
Raise your hand if you have been glued to the TV the last few weeks watching the Olympics. Are you raising your hand? I know I am! There are so many things I love about the games… the diversity, the tenacity, the hard work, the excitement and the way that international conflict seems to pause for a few weeks to honor the best of the best in each sport from countries around the globe. To be able to watch the successes and disappointments in each athlete is a privilege from my little corner of the world. Yes, even the disappointments. In my eyes, even the not-so-golden moments are even something to behold. I can’t imagine how much time, hard work and sacrifice has gone into preparing for this one small moment of time. Every athlete from every country has put in relentless hours trying to become the best that they can be at something they love. Some will go home with gold, some will go home with their pride, all will go home being able to call themselves an Olympic athlete… and that is something to celebrate.
Switching gears to today’s newsletter topic… the game of Rock, Paper, Scissors. Did any of you happen to catch the USA vs China Men’s basketball game? There was a technical foul against China, so USA team members Jimmy Butler and DeMar DeRozan had to decide who would shoot the free throw for the foul. I had to giggle when all of a sudden they busted out Rock, Paper Scissors to make their decision! Watch this quick clip to see who gets to shoot the free throw!
