Creating New Story Lines for Low Course Elements

Creating New Story Lines for Low Course Elements

Recently I was asked by an organization that has several Low Ropes Course Elements for help in creating new story lines for their elements. They have used the same stories over and over again for years and want to breathe some new life into their existing course. An activity that comes to mind is Storytelling cards.Chiji Cards

Give everyone a small deck of cards like Chiji Cards, Climer Cards or Tell Tale Cards. You can either have each person create a unique story, or have the group add onto the story. For Individual stories: Each person turns over their first card and then starts creating a story with the picture they see. Then after a few sentences they turn over the next card and have to continue the story with whatever picture comes next. For a Group Story: One person turns over their first card and starts a story. Then after a few sentences the next person turns over a card and adds onto the story based on the picture that is revealed. Continue around the circle until everyone has contributed one piece of the story.

This might create a spark for some new story lines for your low elements. Feel free to put in some pictures of the different elements in the deck, so it forces staff to start including the elements into the story line. Give it a try and let me know how it works for you!
